Hello!
I am Hyeyoung Koh. I am an Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University. My research group focuses on steel structures as well as other structural systems, with an emphasis on enhancing their design and analysis for resilience and sustainability. Representative research topics include thermodynamics in steel structures, AI-aided structural design, and structural performance assessment using advanced sensing technologies such as fiber optic sensing.
Before joining WSU, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my PhD in December 2022 from UW Madison and my BS and MS in Architectural Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea.
If you are interested in joining the Koh research group as an undergraduate student, graduate student, postdoctoral scholar, or visiting scholar, please reach out to me at hyeyoung.koh (at) wsu (dot) edu.
